“Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”
Purpose
To provide a caring, loving and respectful community of support to our mature and widowed Brothers / Sisters in our church family. We strive to provide emotional, spiritual, physical support and care.
This is a two-way ministry; we are also blessed to learn from these wonderful mature Christians who have many life lessons and spiritual wisdom to offer.
Wisdom may be found in the company of the aged.
Understanding comes with longevity. Job 12:12 ISV
Areas of Service
These are some of the areas of service provided by this ministry:
Celebrating birthdays and their special occasions with them
Send card and letters for encouragement
Make phone calls to check-in on a regular basis to ask how they are.
Determine if there are areas, they might need special assistance: rides to events, church, doctor appointments.
Household type maintenance / repairs.
Provide gifts for several holidays (especially birthdays and Christmas)
Host various dinners and parties in their honor, throughout the year
Visit members in hospitals or assisted living facilities
It is the goal of this ministry to ensure that a week does not pass without a call, card or visit being made to every special member of this group.
