Day 13
Katherine Gould
Father,
We thank You for this new year You have given us with fresh opportunities and new beginnings! You have reminded us in Your Word that we can become a new creation in You. The old things disappear, and all things are made new!
We praise You for these dear sisters and brothers who were baptized over the last year and lift each one up to You: Claire Foltermann, Jocelyn Poynter, Mikayla Ramirez, Dakota Raymond, Luke Carver, Joslynn Ryan, Danielle Miller (and anyone unintentionally not listed). We rejoice in the decision they have made to put their faith in You, to be made new in Your name through baptism, and to join together in the great cloud of witnesses. Each precious soul was made in Your image, and we know You rejoice when even one person turns to You!
We thank You, Father, for the Body You have blessed us with where we can gather together to fellowship and worship in Your Name. We desire to be a source of encouragement to these new believers, walking with and supporting them through each mountaintop and valley. May we be like Aaron to Moses when we are weary from the battle so we can be victorious over any evil or harm. Let us together hold unswervingly onto the hope we profess, serving and encouraging one another in love.
We also lift up to You those who are still seeking You, that You will guide their hearts and minds. Help us to have open hearts, eyes, and ears to each person You place in our path. May we be living testimonies of who You are and the hope You have to offer!
We pray all this in the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.
SCRIPTURES FOR REFLECTION
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Ephesians 4:15-16
