Lord God,

We praise You because of who You are. You are love, grace, righteousness and holiness, all in one, in a way that we cannot even comprehend. We worship You because You are so much greater than we are. We love You because You first loved us.

Thank You, God. Thank You for the creation of families. Thank You for showing us more about who You are by creating children. Thank You for the honor of showing them love in a way that points them to You.

We pray Your blessings on our schools. They should be places of peace and safety, but we have seen that taken away. We pray that You keep hatred and evil away from our children at school and wherever they are; that Your Holy Spirit is in every classroom. We ask that You give teachers the courage to serve in a way that shows Your love and joy and peace to their students. Without You, we are incapable of goodness. With You in our schools, goodness can reign.

The sacrifice You made for us is incomprehensible: that someone so great would lower themselves to save us is amazing. Show us as teachers, administrators, parents, grandparents, friends and mentors how to give ourselves in a way that honors who You are and blesses children everywhere.
