Discussion Questions

Discussion Questions:

1. What are the responsibilities that come with being part of the priesthood of God? What are

the sacrifices we are called to make as part of God’s priesthood today? What does it take

for our sacrifices to be acceptable to God?

2. In what ways is prayer more of a vital organ, like the heart, instead of an appendage, like

an arm or leg? If prayer is a vital organ, how do you protect it and keep it healthy? What

could Garden Ridge do differently as a corporate body to help with this?

3. What struggles do you have with treating God as less than what He is? How often do you

fall into the snare of giving God less than your best while asking Him to bless what is

going on in your life? What helps you to stay focused, so your walk with God is vibrant and

alive?

4. Why is it more important to have deeper disciples than more disciples? How would this aim

affect the way things are done in our times of gathering for worship & fellowship?

5. Why is it important to recognize and embrace that the purpose of all things is to bring glory

to God? How would remembering this when gathering for worship help you to be more

engaged and excited in worship?

Discussion Questions:

1. How is life in this world a daily grind? What kinds of things consistently drag you into a

sense of life being mundane instead of a powerful walk with God?

2. What role does prayer play in keeping your focus above the repetitive cycles and ruts that

seem to go nowhere or accomplish anything?

3. How do you see your own struggle to understand God and His actions or lack of actions,

like Job did? How could Job’s friends have done a better job of helping Job stay focused

on God instead of the pain in his life?

4. How does one approach God with issues and needs in a holy manner? What was the

consequence of treating God in an unholy manner for Moses? How have we fallen into

the same distraction that Moses faced?

5. What explanation is there for Moses winding up in the Promised Land after God said he

wouldn’t, due to treating Him as unholy? What confidence does this give you in the

redemptive work of Jesus in your own life?

Discussion Questions:

1. What caused the apostles and disciples to go from fear to exhibit the courage seen in them

in Acts 4:13? What kinds of things did they pray for? How does this guide you through

your fears?

2. How have you seen God provide the wind for your sails? What example can you give of

God taking what appears to be a mountain and turning it into a plain?

3. What danger do we fall into when we try to come up with the vision and the plan for the

work of the Kingdom?

4. Why is it so tempting to be a “human-doing” rather than a “human-being”? What benefits

have you found simply being in the presence of God instead of feeling like you need to be

doing something for Him?

5. What kinds of things make it difficult for you to be humble and/or submissive? How would

addressing these things help you to have a stronger and more vibrant prayer life?
