1. What makes Easter a day of Victory? How has the victory of resurrection transformed

your life?

2. What kinds of things in your life feel like battles you can’t win and loads you cannot carry

on your own?

3. How have problems and trials tried to hide the victory and security that is available to us

through the work of Jesus?

4. How is facing the things in our life that seem overpowering and relentless like making

cookies? What can you do to remember God’s presence and direction for your life better,

so you do not sit under pomegranate trees when God is calling you to climb the cliff and

face your enemies head on?

5. How does the imagery of Jesus in the book of Revelation display a transformed Jesus?

How does this portrayal of Jesus’ power, authority, and victory provide encouragement to

you?

Transformed--Lesson 11-The Way of Suffering

1. Why do you think God uses pain and suffering to transform things in His image? What

value have you seen in going through suffering?

2. How often do you ask God to help you be more like Jesus? What qualities do you mean

when you pray a prayer like this?

3. How have you seen your tests become opportunities for testimony, and your messes

become messages of God’s love and faithfulness? What role can you play in seeing your

trials turned this way?

4. How does Paul’s example of enduring the suffering he faced in Lystra help you with the

hardships you face? Seeing how God used this to bring Timothy into His service, how

does this help you to look for the good God can be doing through your trials?

5. Do you see yourself in the crowd on Palm Sunday, misunderstanding what Jesus is up to,

or what kind of King He wants to be in your life? What helps you to keep things in proper

context?

Transformed--Lesson 9--Aiming for Holiness

Discussion Questions:

1. How does a definition of God ‘s ability to work in us and through us fit with our aim to be

holy? How does this definition help you to see more ways that the devil tries to distract us

to hinder what God can do in us and through us?

2. What is the significance of the Law being replaced by a Person? What makes relationship

better than obedience to a Law code?

3. Why is it dangerous to determine our holiness based upon perceived answers by God to

the dilemmas we encounter?

4. How are you growing more aware of God and more available to Him? What kinds of things

are current distractions or hinderances to these two things?

5. It could be argued that God did two impossible things because of the convictions of

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They survived the fiery furnace and Nebuchadnezzar

was moved to seeing beyond himself to give glory to the LORD. How does seeing this

ripple effect encourage you in living by your own convictions?
