Discussion Questions:

1. What kinds of things are in the glass you are trying to hold up? How have you seen small

things get heavy the longer you tried to hold them up yourself?

2. Why was God able to rest on the seventh day? How is this a model for what He wants to

provide in your life? Is it possible to enjoy that kind of rest while living in this fallen world?

3. How is peace more about having the fullness of God in your life than the absence of

conflict?

4. How have you been tempted to focus on the temporary instead of the eternal? What are

some ways you have seen this affect your peace?

5. How do Isaiah’s pictures of God’s completed order in chapters 11 and 65 excite you about

what God has planned for your future?

Discussion Questions:

1. In what ways have you struggled with the question, “Who am I?” What reaction do you

have to seeing so many key figures in the bible asking the same question?

2. God’s response to the “Who am I” question is often, “I am with you.” and “I choose you.”

How have you experienced the difference God’s presence makes when you have

struggled with confidence or courage?

3. Why do you suppose God waited until the eunuch experienced rejection before sending

Philip to him to share Jesus with him? How has rejection, humiliation or discouragement

expanded your view of what God has provided through Jesus?

4. Why is it significant that Jesus touched lepers and ate with sinners? Who are the lepers

and sinners in your circle? How have you offered this kind of touch in your own life?

5. How has being chosen by God changed your life?

1. What is the value behind God using process to bring about maturity in our lives?

2. In what ways have you been tempted to return to slavery? What is the appeal? Why is it

so difficult to leave the past behind?

3. How is being clothed in Christ similar to being circumcised? How do these things affect

our relationship with God?

4. How is the armor listed in Ephesians 6:11-17 a picture of being clothed in Christ? How does

this armor help you mature in your relationship with God?

5. How has your understanding of baptism changed as a result of going through this series

of sermons?
