Discussion Questions

Discussion Questions:

1. Do you agree that the body of Christ is made up of incompatible people? How do we

avoid division when people have such vast opinions and perspectives?

2. What kinds of things in your life make it difficult to become a “little one”? Why is

humility such an important part of Kingdom living and conflict resolution?

3. Why does the king take back his forgiveness in the parable Jesus teaches in Matthew

18:23-35? How could this possibly apply to God?

4. How is winning a brother the key to what Jesus teaches about conflict resolution?

5. How is treating someone as an outsider an important and kind thing to do in conflict

resolution (if things go this far)?

Discussion Questions:

1. How much does anger play a role in your life? How difficult is it for you to control

yourself or other things when you feel angry?

2. Because David was anointed to be king of Israel, he was entitled to the Kingdom of God.

How do you see David surrendering his entitlement because of the faith he held? What

does this say to you about your feelings of entitlement?

3. What difference does being anointed play in how you live your life? How does being the

body of Jesus change the way you deal with anger?

4. How much of the anger you feel is tied to frustration due to God’s timing? What are

some practical ways you can remember to live according to God’s timing instead of your

own?

5. What is the balance between giving up anger and still bringing light into the darkness for

the things that are wrong in this world?

Discussion Questions:

1. Have you found yourself trying to balance between what this world offers and what fits

with the Kingdom of God? How does trying to do this add to your worry and stress and/or

take away your peace?

2. What do we learn from the fact that Solomon was given wisdom from God and couldn’t

keep a healthy balance between the things of God and the things of the world? Why is it

difficult for us to let the things of the world go?

3. What does it mean to see with eyes of light? In what ways have you fallen into the trap of

scarcity thinking? What kinds of things help you look at life from a perspective of

abundance?

4. How much of your treasure is temporary? In what way is setting up treasure that is

temporary a form of idolatry? If you are being real honest with yourself, how much do you

worry over things that are temporary? How does this affect your peace?

5. How do you feel about the Israelites saying over and over again, “Let’s go back to

Egypt”? How is attachment to the things of this world the same thing?
