Discussion Questions:

1. What do you think about God having a plan for your life before you have the opportunity to say yes? How does this still allow you freewill?

2. What kinds of things cause you to look backwards in your faith walk instead of looking forward?

3. What kinds of things has God asked you to give up in order to step forward into a new life and ministry with Him?

4. What struggles have you had with humbling yourself as a servant when you thought God was calling you to be part of some exciting ministry?

5. What kinds of stories do you have of God parting the waters because of your dedication and trust in Him?

Discussion Questions:

1. How would you define repentance? When is the last time you truly repented?

2. What kinds of things push you away from God? What kind of Re-Turn do you need to make to God?

3. How does John’s description of repentance for the crowd, the tax collectors and the soldiers surprise you? Why is repentance in these areas so important for maintaining a healthy spiritual walk?

4. What kind of Jordan River faith decisions has the LORD led you to make in the last year?

5. What kind of preparation do you make to recognize the voice of the LORD?

Discussion Questions:

1. How have things of this world made you feel as if God is not involved or in control? How does the crucifixion account show You God’s control and involvement?

2. What should we learn about committing ourselves to the hands of God from stories like Daniel in the lion’s den, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace and Paul & Silas in the Philippian jail? What about stories like Abel being struck down by his brother and James being killed by Herod?

3. What kinds of things have you been tempted to fill your glove with that have gotten in the way of God’s ability to put His hand in your life?

4. Do you agree that the Gospel is misrepresented when we say Jesus suffered so that we don’t have to? How does seeking comfort, luxury, admiration and ease hinder spiritual maturity?

5. How is what Jesus said and did upon the cross a model for us for how we should live according to the way of the cross?
